Today marks Day 1 of our volunteering tour with the La Plata County Obama campaign. We arrived at noon to take on our daily tasks. The office was abuzz with rumors of a John McCain visit to the Durango area (unconfirmed, until approximately 2:00pm).
Maida and I worked, making calls to volunteers for election day, for about 4 hours. Our doggy duties required us to return to the duplex to check in on the pooch, take him for a walk around the neighborhood (trying to get him into a routine), then a drive to the Steamworks Brewery in Durango for free-wifi, email checking, blog posting, and then now we're headed out, back to the office, for more calls before the evening ends.
And, it's official, John McCain is coming to Durango on Friday afternoon. It's been published on his website here.
